Your brief

A responsive project website with one JavaScript interaction.

Choose your own topic or theme while keeping the course’s required features. Optional exercises and homework are enrichment, not completion requirements.

Before you begin

Prepare a code editor and browser. Extract the starter folder, navigate both pages, edit a shared CSS rule, and reopen the project. This is a readiness check for the first website course or equivalent experience. The project runs locally without a server.

Acceptance checklist

  1. Two distinct HTML pages satisfy a written audience/purpose brief.
  2. Semantic regions, meaningful headings, and consistent two-way navigation are present.
  3. Shared CSS remains readable at narrow and wide widths, with visible keyboard focus.
  4. A native button reveals and hides one useful panel through a JavaScript click listener.
  5. The button label, hidden property, and aria-expanded agree after repeated toggles and reload.
  6. The entire project reopens without missing files; one tested improvement is explained.

Keep a test record

For each check, record the action or input, expected result, actual result, and any repair. Repeat the same test after the repair. If no fault appears, record a useful improvement and verify it.

Your project tour

  1. Introduce the audience or player and the purpose.
  2. Demonstrate the required features, including a restart or reload.
  3. Explain the code behind a key behavior.
  4. Describe one tested improvement.
  5. Make a small independent change and repeat the relevant check.

Keep the complete saved project. Public posting is not required.

Sessions, chapters, and optional projects

The course includes six one-hour sessions covering the core learning outcomes. Chapters are learning units, not a timetable: a chapter may span sessions, and a session may cover parts of several chapters. Optional extension projects may be introduced when students demonstrate the core skills and scheduled time remains. Extension coverage or completion is not included in the course commitment.
